Our History
The "Hilltop Community Theater" began in 1992 as a 20 year reunion presentation of the 1972 West High School production of "The Music Man" including many cast members of the original production. The theater evolved, presenting a yearly musical that coincided with the Hilltop Bean Dinner held at Westgate Park. In 1998 the theater reorganized under the name of "Greater Hilltop Community Theater". The new organization added a children's production and a variety show.
Currently, the theater presents two productions a year - a summer musical and a children's play in the fall. The presentations take place at a Hilltop public school facility.
It is not uncommon to have as many as 50 people or so involved in the production of the musicals, with as many as 700 to 800 patrons attending the events. The events usually run over a two day period in June of each year. The children's productions will usually bring in about 100 or more patrons.
