Scholarship
What is the purpose of providing scholarship funds?
The purpose is to enable further educational opportunities. It should be recognized that the general goal and expection is that the funds be used to help others who need assistance in bettering themselves through college, other accredited school of higher learning, or trade schools. The purpose is not to limit the type of education a person receives, but rather, to prepare that person for a successful career and to be a contributor to his/her community.
From where can scholarship funds come?
Initially, scholarship funding is expected to come from corporate sponsor Jerry Ziglar, Real Estate First, Inc., however, this does not preclude the Board from accepting funding from any other donor or source.
Who is eligible for scholarship funds?
Applicants must have participated in at least two complete productions of GHCT. Active participation can include all aspects of the productions, whether as actors, stage crew, ticket sales, etc.
What is the application process?
Applicants must complete a formal application, including a letter of intent by June 30th of each year. Scholarships shall be awarded by August 1st of said year.
What is the selection process?
The recipient selection is at the discretion of the GHCT Board of Directors, and is not subject to dispute or review from any entity or person due to the fact that the funds are a gift, and therefore not an arbitrary right nor guarantee, neither stated nor implied. As funds are available, scholarships in the amount of $100.00 will be awarded to qualified applicants to be used during the following twelve (12) month period.
